Qualitative fit test methods are NOT approved for use with full face masks used for firefighting and the least desirable way to perform fit testing. Challenge agents are messy and unpleasant to the test administrators and subjects. With the OHD Fit Tester 3000, there's no irritant smoke, banana oil, or other challenge agents to spray, breathe, mix, fill, or spill. There are no human factors that could influence a test. Instead, the respirator fit tester replaces these outdated, qualitative methods with the convenience of controlled negative pressure. 

Better still, OHD Fit Tester 3000 has even improved on quantitative methods. The currently available particle counting devices use an inconvenient alcohol cartridge that has to be removed and refilled when the alcohol level runs low. With OHD Fit Tester 3000, there are no cartridge changes, maintenance, or worry about dirty optics. That means you can conduct an unlimited number of fit tests without stopping for anything. The OHD Fit Tester 3000 is the ONLY device that can check its calibration in the field! This gives you an extra measure of confidence as you protect your employees. Remember, OHD Fit Tester 3000 puts the pressure on your respirator not on you! 

We do not use any special hoods or spray any "particles" around the area. The OHD Fit Tester 3000® is connected directly to the firefighters own face piece. Once the face piece is in place, the subject holds their breath. While holding their breath, a continuous negative pressure is applied by the OHD Fit Tester 3000®. Any leaks that occur during this time, are due to leaks in the face-to-face piece seal, or in the face piece itself. This is quick, highly accurate and eliminates tester errors. The OHD Fit Tester 3000® has a built in "quality of test" control that immediately alerts the tester that the quality of the test is poor and needs to be repeated. There are no errors from improper mixing or spraying of test solutions around the face piece of the subject. When the test is completed a printout of all test results is generated and becomes part of the department's Respiratory Protection Program.
