The Fisher Scientific Model 500 Sonic Dismembrator is a compact, programmable device that disrupts cells, extracts samples, reduces particle sizes, accelerates chemical reactions, and mixes and dissolves particles in solution. This device is ideal for preparing samples for soil extractions and features a microprocessor controller that allows strict adherence to exacting protocols. It offers 20 programmable memory slots for storing protocols and can be used in five modes: continuous, timed, pulsed, timed/pulsed or temperature. The Model 500 also includes an automatic overload feature that protects the circuitry and reduces downtime.

exacting protocols. Programmable 20-level hard memory provides the
reproducibility needed for a wide range of applications.  Program each step directly into hard memory. Because the instrument stores up to 20 programs at once, several operators can store their protocols for reuse. Run durations can be set from 1.0
second to 10 hours, and pulsing sequences in both ON/OFF modes.
Easy-to-read LCD screen with user prompts makes the unit easy to use in any of its five modes—continuous, timed, pulsed, timed/pulsed or temperature. Front-panel screen displays power output, parameter settings, alarms and messages. Can be programmed in English, Spanish, Italian, German or French.
Automatic overload feature protects intricate circuitry and reduces costly downtime.
A digital integrating timer permits timing of ultrasonic energy applied in 1-second increments from 1 second to 10 hours. Total desired processing time is set on a pressure-sensitive keypad; selected processing time and actual total elapsed
processing time are displayed. A START/STOP control initiates or reinitiates timed sonication, while a PAUSE control allows manual pulsing or delay. Total preset time of active sonication is unaffected by pauses or pulsing.
Parallel printer and serial interfaces with an I/O connector allow connection to any computer and printing to any printer (with date stamp and parameters).
Accessories increase processing volume, reduce noise. Choose titanium alloy horns and tips in a wide range of sizes for efficient processing of volumes up to 1L, and a soundproof enclosure for eliminating processing noise and ensuring quiet
operation.
